Riffle Hitch / Surface Wake Tube Flies

Tubeology is the ultimate Tube Fly system.  Our lightweight auminium tubes (usually 14mm to 25mm depending on conditions) can be used as surface wake tube flies also known as riffle hitch tube flies. The goal is to produce a small tube fly that is light enough that the surface current will skate a tube fly across the surface of the water over heads of salmon and trout, especailly deadly in summer and low water conditions. Any lightweight Tubeology tied fly can be converted to a surface wake fly by  adding a length of hook retainer to the screw thread on the front of the tube fly. You simply cut a hole in the side wall of that extra hook retainer, pass the tippet through the sidewall and down the tube to the hook as normal. When the surface current catches the fly it will skate across the surface provoking deadly attacks.

Spin Flies

Tubeology Tube flies can be converted into spin flies for early and late season when waters are deep and fast giving that extra dimension to spinning.
